The Commune of Łańcut is one of bigger rural communes of Podkarpackie Province. It is situated in the central part of the province near Łańcut in southern part of the Wisłok valley to the east from Rzeszów on the border of Sandomierz valley and Dynów foothills. Through the commune goes international road E-40 and domestic roads 877 and 881. The Commune of Łańcut is located between 185 and 395 metres above sea level. It was created in 1976 out of three former communes of Albigowa, Kosina and Łańcut and at present it comprises nine villages: Albigowa, Cierpisz, Głuchów, Handzlówka, Kosina, Kraczkowa, Rogóżno, Sonina and Wysoka. Its area amounts to 10,665ha with 20,399 inhabitants (2005). The seat of the commune council is located in Łańcut.
